Unboxing: Memebox Global #18

It’s finally time for another numbered global box from Memebox! I’ve come to love the global numbered boxes – even more so than the themed ones; they might not always be out of this world, but I also think that when they fall short, it’s never as bad as the themed boxes. I guess it’s also because without a theme, there are less expectations so it’s easier to surprise (in a positive way).

I bought this as a value set with the Memebox Global #17 and #19 – so I only had to pay one standard shipping for 3 boxes. The shipping date for this was fixed on 24 December and I received this on 30 December. The set of 3 boxes cost me USD69, plus another USD6.99 for shipping from Korea. Individually, it’s priced at USD23, plus another USD6.99 for standard shipping.

What is Memebox?
Memebox is a non-subscription mystery beauty box company. Each regular Memebox comes with 4 to 8 full-sized or deluxe sample of Korean products, while Superbox comes with only full sized products. Shipping dates are set by the company; check the product description for information about when the box is scheduled to start shipping.

Memebox Global #18
Let’s celebrate! We’ve already made it to the 18th box! To celebrate the release of the 18th version of our hottest box series, we’ve made sure to fill it with our very own favourite goodies, perfect for any and every occasion! As much as we put in extra time and effort in curating this box, we hope that you love each and every one of the goodies inside!

Item 1: Purederm Shower Jelly in Cooling Mint
Full size, 100g. Value of $6.
Randomly selected from #01 Brightening Milk and #02 Cooling Mint.
Product Description: Jelly-textured beauty products are in trend these days, but have you ever seen a shower gel designed into a pudding like, jelly visual? This comes in 2 options, each catered to different skincare needs yet both extremely gentle and non-stimulating. The fine bubbles, which can be easily created with simple lathering, penetrate deep into skin and wash away all dirt, oil, and impurities.
Quick thoughts: This reminds me of Lush’s shower jelly! I wish that I had received the brightening milk version instead as I am not a fan of minty scents, but I will still put this to use.

Item 2: Dr. MJ Bee Tox Control Cream
Full size, 55ml. Value of $50.
Product Description: Repair and renew with this cream rich in skin-repairing agents bee venom, propolis extracts, tea tree leaf water, rosemary extracts, and calendula extracts. It’ll soothe, nourish, and rejuvenate the skin damaged or stimulated from external environment by creating a protective moisture barrier over and retaining moisture and nutrition within the skin.
Quick thoughts: I really wanted to open this to smell it but I have too many opened face creams so this will have to wait. I love any bee/honey products, so this will go into the queue for use soon!

Item 3: echoice Hand Therapy in Cherry Blossom & Shea Butter
Full size, 60g. Value of $2.
Product Description: Infused with shea butter and cherry blossom extracts, this hand cream leaves hands dramatically softer and suppler, and your hand will smell of sweet floral garden all day long.
Quick thoughts: Not too excited because I have just SO MUCH hand creams.

Item 4: Puresmile Animal Point Pad in Guava
Full size, 17ml. Value of $1.
Product Description: This is a point mask pad perfect for moisturising and soothing dry, stimulated or troublesome part of your face and body in one easy 15min treatment. Formulated with a rich blend of guava or pineapple extracts, vitamin E, hyaluronic acid and natto gum.
Quick thoughts: I’ve tried these before – they’re convenient and smells nice. I like to place these in the fridge and use them on my eyes since they’re the perfect size. And they’re so cheap!

Item 5: Derma Lift Intensiderm Aqua Rich Cream
Sample size, 15mlx3ea. Full size of 50ml costs $42. Value of $37.80.
Product Description: A gentle, moisture-rich facial cream formulated specifically to soothe and repair damaged skin and to prevent any further stimulation or damage with a protective moisture barrier. Deeply replenish your skin this cold season.
Quick thoughts: Sounds like a pretty expensive face cream, but I can’t see anything from the description that would warrant the price. That said, I would probably still give this a try. The great thing is that it comes in 3 small tubes so I could trial it and pass the rest to my family to use as well.

Item 6: Touch by Lee Kyung Min Extreme Shield Master
Full size, 2.2ml. Value of $46.
Product Description: Lee Kyung Min is a Korean creative director famous for her winter skincare beauty class and the secret to premium skincare fit for the colder, drier seasons. This is a magical ampoule enriched with essence type oil components for instant moisture surge. It effectively calms and takes care of white flakes and visible dead skin cells evident on dry, roughened skin suffering from piercing winter winds.
Quick thoughts: While I’m back in Sunny Singapore where we don’t have 4 seasons, I’m still super excited to try this! New innovative skincare item? Essence + oil? In a cool packaging. Yes please. Definitely going to try this. But whether it’s worth $46 for such a teeny tiny tube… we’ll see.

The total value of the box came up to $142.80, versus the $23 for the individual box. I’m excited about the Extreme Shield Master, and I already know I like the Animal Point Pad. The shower jelly will be fun to try, if it is anything like Lush’s. The only thing that I will probably give away is the hand cream, and even then it’s not like it’s a failed product; I just have too many.

So I had a couple of items that I’m pretty excited about, and there really isn’t any product in the box that I felt let down in. Even though there were a couple of very cheap products, I felt that they were either fun or honestly worth more than the cost of them! I think this box definitely reinforced my love for the numbered global boxes by Memebox. What do you think?
