There was a huge lull in Memebox launches towards the end of 2014 – for such a long time there were no new boxes coming out, and then there were a few Christmas boxes popping up which sold out extremely quickly, so when I finally saw one that wasn’t sold out, I just had to grab it! I honestly did not even read the content of the box when I purchased it – I just had an itch that needed to be scratched!
I bought this for USD29 with another USD6.99 for standard shipping from Korea. The shipping date for this was fixed on 19 December and I received this on 30 December.
What is Memebox?
Memebox is a non-subscription mystery beauty box company. Each regular Memebox comes with 4 to 8 full-sized or deluxe sample of Korean products, while Superbox comes with only full sized products. Shipping dates are set by the company; check the product description for information about when the box is scheduled to start shipping.

Quick thoughts: I would be a little more excited about this item if not for the 100 face creams in my shelves. But, I think it will still get used.

Item 6: O’GCE Minus Touch Cooling Nose Pack Set
Full size, Cooling Nose Pack 10pcs + Pore Slim Pad Pouch 10pcs. Value of $24.
Product Description: No more blackheads and oily mess around your noses! The Cooling Nose Pack’s blend of blue menthol, button flower, arnica, and pancratium maritimum extract effectively soothe and cool down dry, irritated nose. Then the Pore Slim Pad’s gentle formula based on camellia extracts and witch hazel extracts works to tighten and refresh visibly enlarged pores.
How to use: Cleanse the nose thoroughly with water. With dry hands, remove the translucent film from the Cooling Nose Pack and place the smoother side over your nose. Let it rest for 10~15 minutes. Peel off from the outer edges. Gently rinse with water or toner. As for the Pore Slim Pad, place it over puffy eyes or nose in the morning for about 10~15 minutes. Remove and follow with toner and emulsion.
Quick thoughts: I think this is pretty interesting – a nose pack and a eyes/nose pack? Will be trying this out really soon! And who wouldn’t want less blackheads?
The total value of the box came up to $141 (excluding the handcream which did not have a price tag), versus the $29 I paid for the box. I think to anyone else, this would have been quite a good box, but as a regular beauty box subscriber, and of course after about 30 Memebox, I find that it’s harder and harder to be impressed or excited about the products.
Plus, Memebox seem to have increased the price points – there used to be $23 boxes but now it seems $29 is the norm. Inclusive of shipping, it’s $35.99 for 6 items, which is about $6 per item; so on a per item basis, I think it’s arguable whether it’s good value or not – some of the brand names are so obscure that I wouldn’t even pay regular drugstore prices for them, less say the ridiculous marked up prices. I mean, there’s obscure and luxury; but some items are clearly not luxury brands AND obscure.
There was also a slight change in this month’s box – instead of the usual product card, this came with a e-link to the online info card. I love receiving the paper version, as I like to file them and it’s much easier to refer to them when I need it, so the e-link was a slight let down. I hope they have not totally gotten rid of the paper info-card!
So in all, I’m feeling kinda lukewarm about this box. I’m not too disappointed, but I’ve also pretty much lost the excitement for them like I once had. What do you think?
