Empties #18: February 2015 – Part 1

This is an insane month for empties; whenever I embark on some budget plan, I tend to end up with tons of empties because I have to force myself to use what I have, which is the whole point of having the budget plan so I guess the plan is working quite well so far!

Rating system:
♣ No idea as it’s too small, no opinions or have no impression of.
♥♥ Dislike.
♥♥♥ Neutral/ok; will not repurchase.
♥♥♥♥ Liked; but may or may not repurchase.
♥♥♥♥♥ Holy grail; will repurchase or have repurchased.

1. Klorane Shampooing a L’ortie ♥♥♥♥
I like this – great for days when there’s too much product buildup in your hair; this gives a really good clean. I wouldn’t use it everyday though as it feels quite drying. I like to use it about once every 3 days.

2. Nivea Body Lotion In-Shower Skin Conditioner Whitening ♥♥
I find this a little cumbersome and really not much use – this is supposed to be applied during shower, and then rinsed off. I’m not quite sure how that works as a moisturiser but I don’t feel my skin moisturised or anything and it’s an extra and useless step.

3. Jergens Ultra Healing ♥♥♥♥
I got this during a trip to Philippines where they had tons of sample size products for purchase! This did a splendid job at moisturising my very dry skin. It’s a pretty thick cream but I don’t find it too oily.

4. Lactacyd Intimate Daily Feminine Hygiene Wash
5. Lactacyd Revitalize Daily Feminine Wash
A couple of feminine wash. Let’s not delve too much into this.

6. I Coloniali Body Milk Angel Musk ♥♥
The cream itself is alright – not too thick but also not too runny, and sinks well into the skin. However, I can’t stand the smell. I think I’m not one for musky scents and this was really off putting.

7. Secret Key Starting Treatment Essential Mask ♥♥♥♥
I love this mask! This had a ton of serum in it. It was wet but not dripping as the consistency of the serum is not too watery. After using the mask, there’s still a lot of leftover serum in the packaging.

8. Garnier Clean Sensitive Gentle Ultra-Cleansing Wipes ♥♥♥
I got this on a Buy-1-Get-1-Free sale. I doubt I will repurchase again – I used to love these but I think the ones on sale are dryer than usual so was harder to remove makeup.

9. Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm ♥♥
This was very thick and oily. I found it really hard to remove even with a flannel, and my skin felt like there were still some residue after repeated cleansing and rinsing.

10. Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++ x2 ♥♥♥♥
I’ve quite enjoyed this – lightweight, non-oily with a very high SPF. This worked well under my makeup.

11. Caudalie Vinosource Serum SOS
Say hi to the tiniest sample ever.

12. Daiso Detergent for Puff and Sponge ♥♥
Finally, I’ve used up my last bottle of this detergent! I won’t be repurchasing as I have fallen out of love with this – I realised that this was drying out the hairs on my precious brushes. I had stocked up half a dozen about a couple of years ago when everyone was raving about this and not having tried much else, I thought this was great initially but no, do not get this for your brushes.

13. This Works Sleep Plus+ Pillow Spray ♥♥
This… does not work. Hahaha. All it did was make my pillow smells nicer.

14. Yankee Candle Exotic Bloom ♥♥♥
I’ve been burning a lot of candles in February in my attempt to make my room smell nice for Chinese New Year. I actually found the scent for this not quite strong enough.

15. (Fake) Bobbi Brown Brush ♥♥
So I admit, I bought a fake Bobbi Brown brush. I wished they had not put the fake branding there because some of the brushes in the set were really great. But this one was terrible and really scratchy.

16. Biore Facial Foam MILD ♥♥♥♥
I’ve heard a lot of bad things about foaming cleansers, but you know, sometimes you just need a good foaming cleanser to feel nice and clean! I really liked this one – very affordable, foams up well, cleanses great but also not drying on the skin.

17. Bliss Lemon+Sage Body Butter ♥♥♥♥
I’ve used this many times before and loved it. It’s very creamy, but not oily, and smells amazing.

18. Sothys Shower Cream Cherry Blossom and Lotus Escape ♥♥♥♥
Got it from a hotel – quite a nice shower cream, smells great and washes well.

19. Asience Treatment Hair Mask ♥♥♥♥
I have mixed feelings on this – it did moisturize my hair well, but also weighs down my hair quite a lot even after rinsing it well. My hair would feel really flat and oily the next day, but after a good cleansing wash it will be nice and smooth for the rest of the week. So while I like it, I find it quite troublesome.

That’s it for Part 1 of February’s empties! There’s a TON lot more coming in Part 2 so stay tuned!

    • Heh heh thanks! 🙂
Well I think if your brushes are synthetic then the Daiso ones can still be used, but I definitely wouldn’t let it near any of my natural hair brushes ever again!
