Unboxing: Memebox Special #67 Blackout!

Another random beauty box that turned up on my door recently – like I mentioned in a previous unboxing post, I bought a lot of beauty boxes during a period of time that I felt really down and shopping was all I did. I really had no idea why I bought some of these…! From the theme of the box, I was expecting some charcoal products, or some ingredients that are black in colour, or something to get rid of black heads. Let’s check it out!

Unboxing: Memebox Special #66 Petit Treasures

I don’t usually go for cute themes or cute product items because I am a ‘little’ too old for such stuff or be seen holding them, but I was a little depressed back then when this box was out, and I bought everything in sight, which explains why I bought a lot of boxes with themes that I wouldn’t usually get. My house is now overflowing with so much products that I will have to sleep on top of my beauty products soon. Anyway, let’s get back to the box!

Unboxing: Memebox Super Luckybox #11

I’m going to apologise right now but there will be a ton of unboxing over the next few days – I have a mountain of beauty boxes that suddenly all arrived at the same time! It’s like Christmas came early for me, I love opening up these mystery beauty boxes to find out what’s in them and try them all out but hopefully it won’t be too boring for you readers!

Unboxing: Memebox Global #17

I received this box a couple of weeks ago, but I’ve been travelling the last couple of weeks so this post is really really late. Anyway, this is my second numbered global box from Memebox – the numbered global boxes are what gave Memebox their reputation as a great surprise beauty box status in the first place, so I have a lot of expectations from these!

5 Friday Favourites #5

Wow, I have been neglecting my 5 Friday Favourites! It’s not that I don’t have any – somehow I just never remember to put them up. I’ve been on the move lately – taking some weekend trips as well as running about town meeting up with friends since it’s the holidays so I have been enjoying things that are convenient, travel-friendly or have more than one use.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer is a great cheek highlighter for the face, and can be used as a brow bone shade as well. I’ve been loving the Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment – a nice soft rose shade on the lips and provides moisture at the same time. Covergirl CG Smoothers Concealer in 710 Light works well when you’re short on time or have forgotten to bring foundation along; in a pinch I just swipe a couple of strokes everywhere, blend it in, and that’s all I need.

I’ve been bringing around this mini tube of Benefit Stay Don’t Stray – the itty bitty size is just too cute but of course it’s not just about the packaging; it works really well at keeping eyeshadow in place. The Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Gloss in Belle looks so beautiful on the lips; it’s not too sticky, feels comfortable on and easy to throw on towards the end of the day to vamp up your look for the night.

So that’s 5 items that I have been absolutely loving lately; what about you?

Review: Kevin Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer

I can’t believe that I have not talked about this before, especially since there was a time that this was so hyped up on youtube and the blogosphere. Every other youtube video mentioned this, and whenever there was a foundation post this was bound to pop up in a mention or two. I first heard about it from Wayne Goss on Gossmakeupartist, and then overnight it became the most highly sought after skin base product. That was almost 2 years ago, and it was so hard to find it in Singapore then! I searched high and low and finally found it on a vacation in the US, and cost about USD45 for the 18g pot.

Unboxing: The Little Black Beauty Box – December 2014

I didn’t plan to get another one of these but a bored afternoon at work brought me to random browsing and I saw that The Little Black Beauty Box now actually reveals what will be in the box before you buy them! So I had a quick look at December’s offerings and was so impressed that I immediately bought it.

The Little Black Beauty Box is supposed to be a mystery beauty box but I guess they have decided to change it… maybe because there were a few pretty disappointing boxes previously so at least now we know now what we are getting! Each box is S$22.90 inclusive of shipping, but it is not a monthly subscription service – you just buy the boxes as and when you want them.
