And so we have finally made it to the last part of August empties! Given how much I have and how I used to like opening up everything the moment I get them to “try”, to be able to stick with a few items and use them up, it makes me so happy! Let’s not waste any more time and dive right in!
A very quick eyelook for today – I haven’t done one in ages! I’ve been stuck in a neutral-eye rut for ages so I decided to do something fun and different – not too crazy because I’m going out for lunch with my parents and godfamily. Because I have asian eyelids, when I have my eyes wide opened, nothing much from my eyelids actually show – but sometimes I like it because people get surprised when I blink and they realise that I’m actually wearing something else on my lids!
Lately work has been piling on and I haven’t really had the time to think of makeup looks. You could say that I’ve been in a rut – using the same things over and over again. I didn’t even realize it until I saw the huge dent in my Chanel Les 4 Ombres in Poesie! It’s a neutral palette, but so easy to do a good eye-look in just under 5 minutes because all the colours in the palette are so beautiful, blendable and work so well together that there’s really no thinking involved. Just needs a little NARS Pro-Prime first to prime the lids, and a little LA Girl Endless Semi Permanent Eyeliner in Very Black to finish up the look. To round it off, I add some MAC Powder Blush in Small Vanity on my cheeks and I’m instantly looking more polished – I’ve had this for awhile and it’s a very beautiful neutral ‘dusty rose tan’ blush that’s really hard to screw up with. Neutral shades are just so easy to get stuck in a rut with because they are so simple to work with but can still look great without much thought!
I’ll probably be switching up my makeup now that I know I’ve been doing the same thing for a while, but I thought it was interesting to share! Have you been stuck in a makeup rut as well?
Welcome back to Part 2 of my empties post for April 2015! Do you ever feel like, when you’re nice or the responsible one, people seem to take advantage of you? This is what my April felt like – I’ve been running around helping other people and I can feel myself burning out. My to-do list for others are so long, but a lot of things are for people really close to me so I just can’t say no. Add on all of my own issues to settle – and my skin suffers. I’m going to hold back trying new stuff for the next month or so, to let my skin have a rest; so I’m guessing that next month’s empties won’t be so full! But then again, I always surprise myself. Anyway, let’s dig into my beauty trash!
After a very small Part 1 empties blog post earlier, here’s a much bigger Part 2! Most of these are smaller items or mini/travel sizes of skincare, plus a good number of sachets. I also managed to use up a number of makeup items and that makes me really happy – I always finish up skincare but it’s much harder to use up makeup as I love switching them up!
Welcome back everyone, to part 2 of my January 2015 empties! I’ve got a few makeup items this time round, and a lot more skincare products, so let’s cracking on!
Another item that I picked up from the MAC Heirloom Mix collection is the MAC Fluidline Eye-liner Gel in Dark Majesty. This costs SGD33 for 3g of product. Like the rest of the collection, this comes in limited edition packaging with a smooth glossy coat and silver shimmers, but otherwise regular shaped pot.
From MAC website:
A gel formula that provides the precision of a liquid liner with a silkier, softer finish. Goes on “foolproof” with a brush in an easy dip-and-stroke action. Long-wearing. Smudge-proof. Lines up in a rich array of colours and finishes. Brush sold separately. Decadently encased in limited-edition refined black packaging collaged with silver sparkles.
