Empties #22: June 2015 – Part 2

I was expecting to go through a lot more than I did this month – I had these large, full-size bottles of skincare that are on their last legs and I thought finally, I’ll be done with them in June! But no, they just keep going and never runs out! They’re like magic or auto-refilling or something! That said, I did use up a good amount of makeup! Skincare products are usually easier to run through, so I’m always doubly happy when I do use up a makeup product!

Review: Lancome Renergie Yeux Multi-Lift Ultimate Rejuvenating Eye Duo

I recently wrote a mid-week post on all the eye creams that I’ve been using and I realised I haven’t even reviewed a single one of them! So let’s make haste and correct that – starting with the Lancome Renergie Yeux Multi-Lift Ultimate Rejuvenating Eye Duo. This comes with 15ml of eye cream and 4g of concealer. I can’t remember how much this was, but I found it on Lancome’s official website at £49.

Claims by Lancome:
Take your eyes out of the shadows with Lancôme’s Rénergie Yeux Multi-Lift eye cream. Our skincare duo works together to reduce the appearance of dark circles and under-eye bags. The eye contour looks more luminous and feels firmer. Skin and fine lines around the eye appear smoother.

Midweek Peek #23: I Spy Some Eye Creams

A quick midweek peek at the eye creams that I’m using at the moment – it’s a little crazy but I currently have 6 of them in rotation! I received a lot of them from a magazine contest and they’re expiring by the end of this year, so I’m trying to use them all up before then!

1. Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes
This was from a beauty box; this feels pretty nice – it’s quite light, sinks in fairly quickly and hydrating.

2. For Beloved One Polypeptide DNA Resilience Lift Eye Cream
This was one of gifts from the contest. I’m not a big fan because it’s quite thick and probably more suitable for an older audience. It hasn’t given me problems but I’ve decided to use on my neck instead.

3. Lancome Renergie Yeux Multi-lift
I like the eye cream; very lightweight and feels cooling on the eyes, and hydrating. I don’t use the concealer attached to it much though as it’s a really fair colour and honestly I don’t like the concept.

4. b.seen i’m wrinkle eraser
Another contest gift – I like the funky packaging. The product is okay – but also quite thick and targeted towards older age group. It does temporarily smooth out the skin while it’s on.

5. YSL Forever Youth Liberator Eye Zone Serum
6. L’Oreal Youth Code Rejuvenating Eye Essence
Two very liquid eye serum/essences. They’re very lightweight but I’m too lazy to use them beneath the eye creams consistently so I haven’t used them enough to really form an opinion.

So that’s the eye creams that I’m currently using! It’s really hard for me to tell if the eye creams/serums work because I don’t have any eye wrinkles… and I don’t know if the fact that I don’t have wrinkles is because the creams/serums are working! But I guess prevention is always better than cure!

Have you tried any of them?

Empties #19: March 2015 – Part 2

After a very small Part 1 empties blog post earlier, here’s a much bigger Part 2! Most of these are smaller items or mini/travel sizes of skincare, plus a good number of sachets. I also managed to use up a number of makeup items and that makes me really happy – I always finish up skincare but it’s much harder to use up makeup as I love switching them up!

Empties #19: March 2015 – Part 1

After the largest empties post last month, this month’s empties post feel a little… empty. I was thinking of doing it in one post, but it’s still quite a bit to run through! Plus life has gotten a little bit busy, and by a little I actually mean a lot, so it’s easier for me to sit down and run through 10 items at a go than to go through over 20 items. I love doing empties post, but they really take a lot of effort.

Midweek Peek #21: This Week’s Day Time Skincare

Since I just did a Night Time Skincare post last week, I thought I would just follow it up this week with my Day Time Skincare. I have a few similar products for the day as what I use in the night, as I’m trying to stick to the same products and use them up before moving on to others. Also, it’s easier to tell if the products are really effective if I stick to the same products!

Products I’m using this week:
1. Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner to prep the skin
2. It’s Skin Power 10 Formula WH Effector for whitening
3. Primera Watery Cream Alpine Berry to moisturize though I don’t use it everyday
4. Lancome Renergie Yeux to prevent any crows feet
5. Kiko City Filter Suncreen Primer SPF50 for sun protection

I don’t do the moisturising step everyday, as the weather in Singapore too hot and my makeup would slide off with moisturiser under, unless my skin is feeling particularly parched and really need the extra help. But SPF is a must have – I truly believe in using sun protection.

What’s your skincare routine like?

Midweek Peek #20: This Week’s Night Time Skincare

My skin has been feeling a little on the dry and sensitive side lately, as well as lacklustre, so I’ve been using minimal but highly hydrating products to help it through the night and looking good the next day. I usually try a lot more products simultaneously or pile on multiple serums in a night, but since it’s feeling more sensitive than usual, I’m letting my skin take a break.

Products I’m using this week:
1. Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner to prep the skin
2. It’s Skin Power 10 Formula WH Effector for whitening/brightening
3. OST Vitamin Sleep 9 to 5 Cream to moisturize the skin
4. Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil to really boost skin moisture and lock it all in
5. Lancome Renergie Yeux to prevent any crows feet

I’m still trying to look for more effective products, but so far these works pretty well when my skin is acting up. What about you? What’s on your skincare rotation at the moment?
