Empties #18: February 2015 – Part 2

I love making lists. Especially when it’s lists of empties! Here’s a ginormous list for Part 2 of February’s empties… it’s going to be a really long list, so I hope everyone enjoys reading these lists too! There’s tons of sachets, skincare, and a lot more makeup this month so let’s get to it!

Midweek Peek #19: Birthday Haul from Sephora

My birthday was actually last month, but I finally had the time for a quick sneak into Sephora last week to claim my birthday gift! This year it’s finally not a Sephora-brand item, which was what they gave over the last couple of years – but a little gift set from Benefit!

I love Benefit’s cheeky names for their products – this one is called the “Seal Turn-Ons!”, and contains a mini They’re Real! mascara and a mini Watt’s Up! highlighter. I adore their deluxe sample sizes – they’re great for a good many uses and comes in really pretty proper packaging.

Hope you like reading these midweek peeks! Short, concise and straight to the point. Do let me know if you have any comments – whether you like reading longer posts, or if you prefer them to be sandwiched with short posts like these!

Empties #17: January 2015 – Part 1

It’s the first empties post of 2015! Oh boy, am I excited! Now that I’m on a beauty budget, I’ve been focusing on using up what I already have this month, rather than buying more new items. I always neglect the foil packs – even on holidays, I don’t bring them along though they would be more convenient as I like to carry little bottles of skincare that I know will work well on me, so this month I’ve been trying to dwindle my stash of sample foil packs down.

Empties #16: December 2014 – Part 2

Now for the final part of empties for December 2014! The last of my trash for the year 2014, and now I will be throwing it all behind and hopefully leaving all the nasties and terrible days behind together with it. What a year. Anyways, let’s check out what was in the trash!

5 Friday Favourites #5

Wow, I have been neglecting my 5 Friday Favourites! It’s not that I don’t have any – somehow I just never remember to put them up. I’ve been on the move lately – taking some weekend trips as well as running about town meeting up with friends since it’s the holidays so I have been enjoying things that are convenient, travel-friendly or have more than one use.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer is a great cheek highlighter for the face, and can be used as a brow bone shade as well. I’ve been loving the Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment – a nice soft rose shade on the lips and provides moisture at the same time. Covergirl CG Smoothers Concealer in 710 Light works well when you’re short on time or have forgotten to bring foundation along; in a pinch I just swipe a couple of strokes everywhere, blend it in, and that’s all I need.

I’ve been bringing around this mini tube of Benefit Stay Don’t Stray – the itty bitty size is just too cute but of course it’s not just about the packaging; it works really well at keeping eyeshadow in place. The Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Gloss in Belle looks so beautiful on the lips; it’s not too sticky, feels comfortable on and easy to throw on towards the end of the day to vamp up your look for the night.

So that’s 5 items that I have been absolutely loving lately; what about you?

Empties #15: November 2014 – Part 2

Here comes Part 2 of the massive November’s empties post! Some times I can’t believe how much I run through in a month. There’s a ton of products to run through so lets dive right in!

Unboxing: The Little Black Beauty Box – September 2014

I know, I know. I said I wasn’t going to get the next TLBBB last month, but I saw the brands included in this month’s box and I could not resist getting it! I’m such a sucker like that! The box came very punctually this time – in the last few days of August; I’ve had it sitting on my desk for a week before posting this up. As usual, it costs S$22.90 inclusive of delivery. Let’s take a look at what’s in it!

Unboxing: The Little Black Beauty Box August 2014

Oh dear. Another unboxing? Seems like my subscription box habit is getting a little out of hand here! August’s The Little Black Beauty Box is set around the theme of “Jetsetter”. I was pretty excited when I saw the theme because I do travel a lot so I thought it could be a really fun and useful box… but when I received it I have to say that I was pretty disappointed.

Unboxing: The Little Black Beauty Box June 2014

Yes, another beauty box! After the wonderful beauty box from Vanity Trove last month, I decided to give another beauty box a try. This month I decided to try a different company so I googled for “beauty boxes in Singapore” and randomly chanced upon StyleXStyle. Incidentally, they were coming out with a beauty box – they don’t do beauty boxes regularly but there was one coming out in June and will be a collaboration with Tangs.

For non-Singaporeans reading this post, Tangs is a department store, with a really big beauty hall that carries mainly high end and exclusive brands. I love shopping at the Tangs beauty hall! At S$22.90, I thought it was a great price to sample from high end brands and also wanted to check out the new beauty box service! Are you curious about what’s inside it?

Midweek Peek #6: What’s on my Lips now?

A quick midweek peek into what I’ve been spotting on my lips – not really a lip product person, but somehow over the years I’ve managed to accumulate a huge amount of them; I’ve been trying to justify my purchases by making sure I carry a few around everyday so I remember to use them.

Tarte Lipsurgence Natural Matte Lip Tint in Fiery; a bit drying but I do like how it looks on me with a little finger blending to lighten and soften the color.// Boots No7 Sheer Temptation Lipstick in Lovely; had this in my collection for so long and I go through phases of loving it and getting bored of it, and now I’m back in love with it. //BeneFit Cosmetics Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Sugarbomb; a little too sheer but looks pretty paired on top of a bright lipstick and does not feel too sticky.// Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait; a long time love that’s almost used up, looks so pretty on and feels so comfortable.

What are you spotting on your lips right now?
